Preservation Showcase highlights efforts in Cedar Rapids

The Cedar Rapids Historic Preservation Commission’s Preservation Showcase turned a spotlight on historic preservation efforts in the city.

The event, on Saturday, May 7, 2016, included a window workshop, bus tours by city historian Mark Stoffer Hunter, one of which featured a stop at the newly restored Mott Building (Iowa Windmill & Pump Co.,) preservation seminars, live music, tours of the Grant Wood Studio and Ausadie Building (the first local historic landmark in Cedar Rapids) and an awards ceremony at the Masonic Library.
