Early 1900s Cedar Rapids house in need of new home

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa — A farmhouse in southwest Cedar Rapids is being offered for free to anyone who can move it within this year.
The four-bedroom, 1,600-square-foot home, built in the early 1900s, is in need of updates, paint and some repair, but appears to be structurally sound.
Featuring original woodwork and doors, a built-in corner cabinet and sunporch, the 2-story house with walk-up attic would ideally be moved sometime this summer.
The owners are not looking to parcel out items from the home, but are seeking someone to move the whole house.

While the home is being offered for free, moving a house can cost upwards of $100,000 for the move itself, new foundation, electrical systems and other upgrades.
Anyone with the financial capacity and a vacant lot to move the home to, please leave a message. Serious inquiries will be passed along to the current owners.
Save CR Heritage moved the “Frankie House” in southeast Cedar Rapids and is currently raising funds to move the J.E. Halvorson House. See photos here.
