Frankie House gets a hand
Save Cedar Rapids Heritage’s Frankie House project got a hand today (Sunday July 5) from a dozen AmeriCorps volunteers. The crew removed dead brush and limbs that had been piled outside the house, then moved inside to remove suspended ceilings, lighting fixtures, and floor and wall coverings that had been added to the house over the years.
Save CR Heritage is grateful for the team’s hours and effort, and proud they chose Frankie House as their community service project, (In addition to their “regular” work, AmeriCorps volunteers choose a community-service project to which they contribute their time).
Sunday’s volunteers included members of the Cedar 5 team. They’re based out of the National Civilian Community Corps‘ North Central regional headquarters in Vinton.
